Leadership Is About Keeping Your Team Focused On A Common

Leadership is about keeping your team focused on a common goal and motivated to do their best to achieve it. Effective leadership is about laying the groundwork for others’ success and then standing back and letting them be admired. I selected case study 26 – Surgical Need or Greed. I chose this case study because if it relates to an important topic that I care dearly about. The case study focuses on quality and patient safety. The main points chosen to focus on for this assignment are quality service, employee’s integrity, and adequate healthcare to patients are the main priority. Unnecessary surgery is never a good thing and putting a patient’s life in danger for no reason is an ever worse thought. Safety is a vital focus of any health care facility. The safety of the patients as well as employees should always be a main goal. Patients are here to be helped by individuals who devote their lives to caring for others. It takes extraordinary individuals to care for others. Employee safety is just as important. An effective leader will create a world where granted some safety issues cannot be prevented, most can. In this case, the CMO has responsibility to make sure that the issue is taken care of and ensure that it does not transpire again. The report on Dr. Kutall and his practices will be forwarded to the medical executive board for review. It is understandable that both Doctors Smith and Boyle are wanting to meet with the CMO to discuss their concerns about the improper surgeries. If people valued their employment as well as others safety; there would be limited mistakes and dangers. If Doctors Smith and Boyle had never bought their findings and concerns to the CMO, there is no telling how long the unnecessary surgeries would have continued to g o on.
